"Economics:  Theory and Practice"

"Economics:  Theory and Practice", a required course for all Seniors, introduces the students to the fundamental concepts of Economics.  For one semester the student examines the theoretical concepts of Micro- and Macro-Economics (for Economics credit); the other semester emphasizes personal economics from a more practical perspective (for Family and Consumer Science credit).  The fundamental strategy behind the course lies in a team teaching approach through the two disciplines:  Family and Consumer Sciences and Social Studies.  The course emphasizes career preparation--both college-bound and non-college bound routes--by balancing the theoretical with the practical.
